2026 DARK SKY STAR PARTY

The Gravity Discovery Centre and Observatory is excited to present the 2026 Annual Dark Sky Star Party.

This year's event - hosted at the Neergabby Showground (14 Telephone Rd, Neergabby) will be held on Friday, 20 March and Saturday, 21 March 2026.

This Family Friendly annual event serves to enagage the Community and promote the region while showcasing the Dark Sky Reserve and highlighting the connection between Western Science and Aboriginal Cultural Heritage.

The 2026 event will occur over two nights – Friday, 20 March and Saturday, 21 March.

The weekend will feature Public Stargazing, Astronomy ‘How To’ sessions and Astro-Photography Intro + Advice each evening.

The Gravity Discovery Centre Observatory transport its own specialty, long range telescopes to this event for guided public astronomy – but we love to see the Astro enthusiasts out there in their element – and encourage you to bring your own telescope, binoculars and/or astrophotography gear to set up on the Grounds with us.

During the day a series of activities and demonstrations will be offered at our Discovery Centre.

We encourage visitors to stay a while, explore the area and discover everything our beautiful region has to offer – check out the Limestone Bird Park, take a drive to historic Gingin, pick up local fresh ‘paddock to palate’ produce and unexpected wares – there’s so more and more to explore!
